Photo Crushes Pt. 2

So it hasn't been the best of weeks in terms of photo shoots and outfit shots. I tried. I really did! But photos got deleted, cameras dies, computers stopped working and outfits became less than inspiring! So instead, I raided my overflowing inspiration folder to share some of my current obsessions with you guys. And hopefully the stars will align for some outfit photos tomorrow!

In other news, I have the best friends and family ever. I turned 24 today, for some reason a very scary number for me (which yes, I know is ridiculous) and for multiple reasons I was anticipating a very lonely and tiring day. Even though most of my family and friends were not in the same town as me they showered me with phone calls, notes, flowers and love. Thanks guys! I love you all very much!

And in other exciting news, here's a present to you guys! CSN Stores are giving away a $35 e-gift certificate to one of my readers! Have you entered yet? You should! Seriously, who doesn't like free money??

The Dog Days Are Over

The Dog Days Are Over- Florence and the Machine
This past week I was house sitting for my parents; keeping the vandals away (racoons), feeding the cats and raiding my mum's vintage collection. Not too shabby. She didn't keep a ton, which is such a shame as she had some amazing things and is my exact size. Geesh. I did find this fuzzy mohair pencil skirt and the brocade scarf though and together they made a very cozy-glam look. Perfect for the beginning of fall.
Shirt: Jacob
Skirt and Scarf: Vintage
Belt: Gap
Shoes and Tights: Aldo
Gold Leaf Bracelet: Archive Vintage Etsy Shop
Necklace: Marc Jacobs

Tonight is a fancy dress party for some upcoming birthday's of my friends (mine too!) so I get to get my fancy on and eat cake. An awesome Saturday night!

I hope yours is just as awesome!

Cameras

 Cameras- Matt and Kim
Well. Hello Fall!
The days are shorter and the air is crisper, perfect for layers and many, many scarves. Like this perfect leopard print one! It's thin but huge and makes even the most boring of outfits from looking dull (case in point, above). It also went perfectly with my poppy red purse, an early birthday present from my wonderful sister!
 Cardigan: Smart Set
Cami: Forever 21
Shorts: Le Chateau
Leopard Print Scarf and Turquoise Ring: Aldo
Belt: Vintage
Coach Purse: Gift from Sister!
Shoes: Franco Sarto
When I got around to transferring these onto my computer I noticed a photo that I had just downloaded into my inspiration file. Apparently my sub-conscience is easy to penetrate as my outfit today is suspiciously similar to the colour scheme below (I actually really wanted to wear an army jacket as well, but I'm having the hardest time finding a nice one in my price range!). Now. I just need to grab my gun and wellies and I'll be good to go.

Kidding!! (about the gun. not the boots)

Black & Blue

Black & Blue- Miike Snow
This is definitely the most ladylike dress I own, which took a little while to get used to! The polka dots and pretty way it moves just sold me though, and I have to get away from mini skirts at some point in my life (or so I've been told). It was perfect for yesterday and I felt quite vintage all day (I had to throw a cardigan on for work though as it's the same temperature as a meat locker!)
Dress: Zellers (for real!)
Hat: American Apparel
Boots and Turquoise Ring: Aldo
Tights: Le Chateau
Belt: Vintage

Tonight I'm in need of a little r & r... and a strawberry milkshake. Luckily, I fully intend of checking both these items off my list! I'm going to curl up on my big comfy couch and watch the Gossip Girl Premiere (only kind of follow the show, but the clothes and the fact that the episode is in Paris are huge draws!). I'm also hoping to finally get caught up with all this Fashion Week info, I love all the snippets of the shows I've seen so far and have been itching to get the full runway rundown!

A Little Bit

A Little Bit- Madi Diaz
Yet another men's shirt has found it's way into my closet, but this time it's in the coziest flannel plaid print. Perfect for fall, and good enough to sleep in (don't judge! lol) It's definitely feeling like fall here, crisp and bright, I'm very much in love with it! Now I'm just on the hunt for the remaining things on my wish list (at right), but all the options I keep finding are beautiful, and most definitely out of my budget! Hmm... I see a very long day of thrifting in my future!

Flannel Shirt- Bluenotes (Mens)
Jeans- Winners
Boots and Turquoise Ring- Aldo
Bag- Thrifted
Belt- Vintage
Necklace- Marc Jacobs
Anyways I'm just one big ball of happiness today (do you ever have days when things just work? Today happens to be one of mine!) I got all my errands done super early, did a bunch of work and then booked a trip to Paris!! I know!!! You should see me right now, I'm in bliss! I'm not going until November, but I'm sure I'll be talking about it so much that you will all hate me. Sorry in advance.
How is your day going?

Colour Blind

Colour Blind- Counting Crows
A simple little shift dress, that I picked up 3 years ago and have just found again (tucked away with the skirt from the last post!). It was mighty comfy today and made even better with my current obsession of a blouse.

Dress and Silver Ring- Suzy Shier
Blouse- Thrifted
Pumps- Le Chateau
Belt- Gap
Socks and Cuff- ??

So the photography class I was supposed to take didn't pan out. Bummer. But the silver lining is that I have a very awesome friend who introduced me to the delights of youtube photography lessons! We spent some time  learning about all the different buttons and shutter speeds and such. There's still so much more to learn, but at least I'm a bit further ahead now! Below is a photo he took while the shutter was left open. Yup, that's me waving my cell phone in the air... I only wish I'd written my name. Lol... next time I guess!

What are you guys hoping to learn this fall??

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Breakfast at Tiffany's- Deep Blue Something
Well, it's been an eventful week. Complete with a dog adoption, house viewing, cat stealing, stuff-I-don't-want-to-talk-about, and many sleepless nights. So. This being my day off I slept in till 9am and then proceeded to make myself some very yummy pancakes. It was a good morning!

The cat stealing in question was me nabbing Binx for a few nights to keep me company. I had a dog, Sophie, staying with me until she found a permanent home. She was found by a friend up North and she's just the cutest little scruff ever. I had a blast with her, even if she did try to maul my shoe collection and pee on my floors. When she left it seemed eerily quiet, that's where Binx comes in.

Skirt- Banana Republic (Outlet, 6 years ago...)
Tee- American Apparel
Shoes- Le Chateau
Watch- Guess
Belt- Gap

I found this skirt the other day, during some seasonal wardrobe switching. I bought it when I was just a baby, fresh out of high school. I remember thinking how grown-up and ladylike it was... completely impractical for a seventeen year old girl who was a waitressing at the time. But it was love, and the heart wants what it wants (it was also dirt cheap!). I've barely worn the pretty thing though, it's just so dressy, but I decided I'd pair it with a very casual tee to tone it down. I think that might be one of my favorite things to do, pair something uber dressy with something so laid-back. Now excuse me while I go find a flannel shirt to pair with my prom dress...

Here's some eye candy for good measure!
Scrumptious morning pancakes with blueberries and lemon curd

The most adorable little puppy ever, Sophie!
