Wear and Tear

Wear and Tear- Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johanssen
We're getting our first snow storm today, it's crazy that just a few days ago it was an indian summer! Because of the upcoming freeze I've been wearing layers upon layers, trying to stay warm and cozy. This shawl is perfect to throw on top of pretty much any outfit I've tried (it looks ravishing with my pjs!) so it hasn't spent much time off my shoulders.
In honour of my "hundred" list I'm wearing lipstick! Eek. I adore the stuff, it's so womanly and elegant, but I feel so ostentatious when I wear it. Though I did go kinda loud with the poppy colour! But after seeing so much of this colour on the runways I'm kind of obsessed. Maybe I'll leave it for special occasions, doing the dishes and Halloween.

And now I think I'm going to curl up on the couch with some sticky toffee pudding (!) and probably fall asleep in 15 min. I think the caffine intake is going to have to increase if I'm going to keep going at this pace!
How's your week going? And has anyone thought of a good costume yet??
Halloweek is here!

Radioactive

Radioactive- Kings of Leon
I love how the colour red just wakes everything up. I'm still trying to get over a cold/flu from these past few days but as soon as the coat went on I felt much more alive (less like the zombie that I had been all day!). Plus stripes are my happy print, so classic and French, and the pumpkin spice latte didn't hurt either! Definitely feeling better now!

I still haven't decided what to be for Halloween, it always sneaks up on me! I was thinking of being a double rainbow (LOVED the video!!) but also thinking Audrey Hepburn as I have everything easily accessible in my wardrobe. Hmmm.
What about you? What are you guys being for Halloween?

Unsent

Unsent- Alanis Morissette
Oh Boy, aren't you guys lucky? Just look at the gorgeous setting for my outfit shot! ;)
Truthfully, these were not ever going to be published. I wore this outfit to a gorgeous wedding on Saturday and these photos are from the night before when I had tried on a bunch of different dresses. I tend to take photos of the contending outfits, it helps me decide which one worked best (does anyone else do this??)! But then Saturday was a whirlwind and I didn't get a chance to snap some better ones. So I hope you aren't too distracted by the yoga mat, easel, books and shoes in the background!

Black Silk and Velvet Dress: Theory (Borrowed from the Lovely Brooke)
Nude Patent Shoes, Shell Clutch and Sequin Headband: Aldo
Pearl and (fake) Diamond Ring: Le Chateau
Pearl Necklace: Vintage (Grandma's)
Navy Blazer (worn for the ceremony): R.W. and Co.

I'm completely in love with the ladylike flow of this dress, plus it created a perfect excuse to treat myself to some new nude shoes (found in the Aldo sale for $20...holla!!). It also worked perfectly on the dance floor, so much so that I ended up (most likely ungracefully) tearing the floor up! But the bride looked gorgeous, the groom was dashing and there was copious amounts of laughter, friends, wine and dancing. All in all, a very successful wedding!
Congrats A and M!!

Little Lion Man

Little Lion Man- Mumford & Sons

This is my "Art Student" outfit, it's all loose and flowing on top and streamlined on the bottom. For some reason this silhouette, paired with a beret, translates to an Art Student to me... or maybe I'm just too excited for my France trip (less than a month!!!!) and just want to be more Franglish!
Top: Winners, Leggings: Joe, Beret and Pashmina: Le Chateau, Camel Wedges: Franco Sarto, Necklace: Marc Jacobs, Turquoise Ring: Aldo

Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving, plus some prep for Halloween! My dad made his first Thanksgiving meal and it all turned out perfect (with a healthy dose of help from my mum...) it really was a perfect day though and a perfect time to think of everything that I'm thankful for! You can also witness my art skills below, as I maul the poor pumpkin (it definitely did not turn out. Though it was scary... just because it looked like someone had repeatedly stabbed it!)
I hope your weekend was just as nice!

Daylight

Daylight- Matt and Kim
It's been the most gorgeous October that I can remember, warm and sunny during the day and crisp at night. The bright and vibrant colours make such a pretty backdrop too!
I picked up this blazer the other day, it's seriously comfy and still looks pulled together. I'm excited to pair it with some dresses this weekend...aaaand that's how I know I'm on the right career path, an outfit excites me more than anything else lol. I'm also excited that it's also Thanksgiving this weekend; my dad is going to cook his first big meal (the whole family is nervous...but encouraging!) so it's just a great weekend all around.

Navy Blazer- RW and Co.
Black Jeans- Gap
Tan Wedges- Franco Sarto
White Cami- Winners
Purple Suede Belt- American Apparel
Assorted Jewelry
I hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend too, Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians and Happy Birthday to my favorite little Monkey this Sunday too!

Whew. These photos are of an outfit that I wore over a week ago! That's how far behind I am guys. This is also why I need to start dating a photographer (if anyone knows a cute one, send him my way!). That way I might actually be able to take regular outfit photos!
I fell in love with this little dress when I was shopping in Winnipeg a few weekends ago. It's all lace on the top and completely pretty, I wasn't planning on treating myself but couldn't seem to leave the store without it! And I'm glad I didn't, it's getting a lot more use than I ever thought it would (I'm even thinking of sneaking it into an upcoming wedding if this nice weather keeps up).
Lace and Chiffon Dress and Purple Belt: American Apparel
Flower Shoes and Purple Bow Clutch: Le Chateau
Turquoise Ring: Aldo
Gold Feather Bracelet: Archives Vintage
Flowers: From my Lovely Sister! xx
I've been doing a lot of thinking about what I want to accomplish in my life (a certain nasty-number birthday brought this on...) and have started making a list; "the hundred". Quite simply, it's a hundred things I want to do/learn/see in my life. I haven't finished it yet as I'm trying to be honest and thoughtful about each entry (even if many of them are completely dorky and things only I would like (number 068. sing karaoke and don't care that I'm horrible)) but it's been really awesome to think about all the possibilities I have.
What's on your Bucket List??

Thanks to everyone who entered, and I can't wait to hear what Kara buys with it!

p.s I couldn't figure out how to show the Random Number generator that came up with the winning entry, so you'll just have to take my (honest!) word for it! :)

p.p.s outfit shots will be up tomorrow! I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted some...
