Letters- Lemolo

I'm a planner, a list maker, a play by the rules kind of girl. Spontaneous trips to places I've never been just don't happen for me.

But I also thought I didn't like avocados for the first 20 years of my life, and lately I can't get enough (guac and sangria on a Thursday night? Best. Ever.) So, when a friend called up to see if I wanted to go on a road trip this weekend out to the Okanagan... well, why not? 

And wouldn't you know, it was a total blast. Maybe I need to step out of my comfort zones more often!

For the beauties that follow me on Twitter you'll know that I've spent the better part of the last few months on a hunt for a felt panama hat, in the style of Rag & Bone... but at a fraction of the price! I was directed to the camping/outdoor enthusiast store 3 Vets a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to stop in. 

And there it was, this Pendleton piece of perfection. I cannot wait to style it up for Fall!

Can I let you in on a secret? I feel like a total ballerina in these heels (which is what I strive for each day, obvs) so I've been living in them as of late, they're also comfier than pointe shoes. win-win! 

And when all you feel like doing is air drying your hair, living in your comfiest denim and recuperating from an exhausting week it's nice to know you can still put up the pre tense that you've tried.

This wasn't really a planned outfit shoot, hence the very low key outfit, but as I was driving along the "Sea to Sky" highway north of Vancouver I just had to take some photos. I mean, who could really pass up that view?! It had been intermittently raining all day but it cleared up as I stepped out of the car and the sun started to set, making the lighting all soft and pretty (not to mention very complementary...holla!)

Crossfire

Phew! All settled in and cozy again, just a few provinces further west. So the posts will be resuming and hopefully I'll be able to be a whole lot nicer with reply's... it's amazing what having some extra time on your hands can let you do! 

And now I just have to say... Vancouver is gorgeous! I'm so so happy I made this long awaited move. For the past few days, while waiting for my internet to be hooked up, I've been exploring the city, well... as much as my annoying cold will allow me. But between the ocean, mountains and culture... I'm completely smitten.

 This is my faux stylish outfit- it looks the part but is really just dead comfy. I have my trusty boots and an old denim shirt, both wardrobe staples in my book! Then, to ramp it up a bit, I put on some wool shorts, patterned tights and a leo scarf. Ta da! I look the part but can still nurse my cold!

I Am Over It

I Am Over It- The Dandy Warhols

Some days you just need to put on your girliest skirt and twirl around. I honestly don't remember what day this week I wore this (...Thursday??) but most of this week I've felt this way. It's been a long week. 

That's not necessarily a bad thing, I've been learning a lot and dealing with some loose ends, but it doesn't leave a lot of time to relax and unwind. I think I might head up to my lake on Sunday to escape a bit and de-stress. There's nothing better to me than sitting on the docks of my lake with a good book and a coffee of some sort (mmm... chai latte...).

Bullet

Bullet: Steel Train
Definitely one of the best weekends of the year! The wedding was gorgeous (congrats J and R!) and such a good time; a mini high school reunion but minus all the drama. And the remainder of the weekend was spent relaxing with friends, learning volleyball (hah!) and playing old school games! Now why aren't all weekends like that?? 


Getting back into the swing of things was hard yesterday, so it was early to bed to recuperate- instead of tackling the mountain of work I'd left on Friday with intentions to finish last night. That's what Tuesdays are for though!

This is actually the dress I bought when I got my first real "grown-up" job, it's quite heavy and has this gorgeous retro flower print on it. I remember putting it on and just feeling like a classy business lady! I love it when clothes bring back happy memories and I can still muster up the same feeling when I slip this dress on now!
