Lovefool- The Cardigans

Dear, I feel we're facing a problem. 

This skirt is just too much fun to play dress-up with and yet it is not mine! The lovely Mina of Faboulista lent it to me at the last blogger swap we had. It definitely adds more junk in the trunk which can pose a problem, but it's also crazy soft and slinky and with a fitted top looks quite breezy. 

I was originally going to pair it with something sleek, a black cami and a heavy necklace, but when it accidentally slipped next to this floral tank I just went with it. It definitely takes the skirt in a more fun and flirty way, which is the perfect mood for summer!

And since I've been working like a dog (surprise Louise! Handing in your two weeks notice when you still have four weeks to go, not so smart.) I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

Moves

Moves- The New Pornographers

Guess who found a haaat?! (please sing that, as I just did) It's not the right hat, but it's a right now hat. My real lover hat is roughly this shape and style but a taupy brown colour. Oh, and it would actually fit my head. This one just cuts off circulation and makes a delightful red band around my head that doesn't go away. 

Awkwaaaard. 

But it's cute and it was only $2 at the local thrift store, so it will tide me over till I can find my true love.

I'm back from Toronto today, after a week away, and then it's a quick sleep at home before flitting off on a road trip to Kelowna for my sister's grad. Oh the life of a Canadian jet-setter is so glam! 

I'm so proud of my sister though, she's been in school since she was 4 and has always set the bar so high, so I'm thrilled that I get to celebrate with her at the end. Plus, I really don't think I've met any people who throw a better/wilder party than doctors. True fact. (also a scary one!)

Scratch

So first off, I built a deck today (well, my dad helped but still... kind of proud of myself!) I also made some cut-off shorts.. INSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW PAIR! Sorry, I'm feeling super proud right now and had to gloat. I'm done now. :)

This is such a comfy little dress, obviously it's perfect for summer but seeing as Manitoba decided to have summer in April I had to put on my handy cardigan and tights again. Still cute, but not as floaty as this dress should be. I also wanted to rough up the florals again so I used the studded belt and cuff, and then a sturdy pair of T-straps to ground it all.

The fair is in town this week, which means rides, mini-donuts, cotton candy and fireworks! Because I'm a 5 year old trapped in an adult's body I'm super excited about going and already have my ticket! I plan on soaking up all the fair fun (even if that means standing outside in long lines while it pours...) and I'm hoping to win some ginormous stuffed animal and gain at least 5lbs. in fair food! I hope everyone else has an awesome weekend too! 

Lovely: Seeing water beads on leaves. I don't know why, but this makes me smile. A lot. :)
