Settle Down

It's official, Fall has arrived! Jeans are out, coats are on and rain is falling.
Obviously, I'm thrilled!
I haven't had a chance to be outside enjoying it yet (oh hai, 32 hours of homework last weekend!) but getting to wear layers and sip tea while working is not too shabby.

Plus, it feels more weather appropriate to wear these pumps again, the red heel just makes me so happy- and reminds me of being in France last fall, where these beauties came from. I love wearing items that have such strong memories attached to them!
Army Coat- Element (similar), Skinny Jeans- c/o Parasuco, Grey Silk Blouse and Gold Necklace- Joe Fresh, Bauble Necklace- Loft, Belt- Vintage, Heels- Mellow Yellow
And how cozy are these jeans?
I don't wear jeans too often, mainly because leggings and tights allow for more comfort/impromptu dance moves, but these guys have lycra in them and just hug you.
Parasuco sent them over for me to try out and I have to say, they're pretty awesome! Parasuco is one of those iconic Canadian brands from my childhood (pretty sure everyone in my high school had at least one pair of their jeans!) and they just launched their online shopping site, check it out here.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Good Life

Last weekend Cee of Coco and Vera hosted a lovely little birthday and swap party, how perfect is that?
A group of my favourite Vancouver bloggers came and we caught up, ate cake (home made by Cee's wonderful husband!) and picked out some new goodies to style.

Plus she handed out little tiaras that were just so much fun!
The September birthday babies, Jen, me and Cee!
Poses in the park!
Outfit: Red Sweater (similar) and Gold Necklace- Joe Fresh, Floral Skirt (similar) and Bracelets- Le Chateau, Oxford Heels- Mellow Yellow (France), Belt- Vintage
Camel heels galore!
Photo credits to the patient husbands Ian and David

And I just want to say a big thank you for bearing with my absence these past few weeks! I still haven't worked out this new routine and homework is just piling up, then when you're the hugest klutz in the world and spill water on your beloved laptop you end up losing your day-off to wringing your fingers at the Genius Bar.
But I promise that I will be replying and checking in with all your lovely blogs soon, it's breaking my heart that it's been so long already!

Sweet Disposition

Due to a Blogger glitch, this is my previously released post from Thursday.
The second times better anyway!
Sweet Disposition- The Temper Trap
Wow. Do you guys see how dark my hair actually is??
I was going to talk all about colour blocking, carrot pants, spring trends... you know, stuff that would make sense on a fashion blog. But as I'm looking at these photos, all I can think is Damn. My natural colour is daaaark!
I haven't dyed my hair in about 9 months (hence the lighter ends) as I'm really trying to embrace my God given colour. I'm also trying on a bunch of different hairstyles, so today I was bored and decided to try my part on the other side, you know, really mix things up and get crazy! Because I have some mad cow-licks it's a bit harder than it should be... and required many (many!) bobby pins! And looking at these dark brown roots I really don't think this hair has ever seen the sun. Darn cow-licks!
Coral Cardigan- J.Crew (sale!), Red Silk Tank- Urban Outfitters, Beige Carrot Pants- Wilfred via Aritzia, Loafer Heels- Mellow Yellow, Gold Bead Necklace- Target, Belt- Vintage
But I think that's probably enough talk about my hair!
Especially since I'm quite excited about all the new spring trends that I can finally wear and enjoy, including this one of colour blocking with bright analogous colours! Which, of course, is a favourite as I love saying analogous. :) (...it makes me sound smart)
There's no way a person can be unhappy while wearing such a bright mash-up... and after last week's less than stellar events I'm pretty determined to turn my luck around!

Go Your Own Way

Go Your Own Way- Fleetwood Mac (yeah. That's right!)
I've been saving this little dress for photos for when it's sunny enough to go without a cover-up. It has the cutest cut- all Audrey Hepburn on top and pouffy below the waist, I feel like quite the pretty ballerina when I wear it...and isn't that every girl's wish?? So I decided to forgo the waiting and post photos the next time I wore it, I always was crap at waiting for things anyways!
Polka Dot Dress- Zara, Red Coat- Costa Blanca, Brown Belt- Vintage, Black Tights- Target, Brown Colour Clock Shoes- Mellow Yellow, Gold Feather Bracelet- Archive Vintage

I keep seeing people rocking the most perfect vintage brooches everywhere, and as I was cropping these photos I couldn't help but feel that this outfit would be brought up that extra bit with a little beauty attached to it. Too bad about the self-imposed shopping ban... a girl can hope and wish though (and possibly search her mum's vintage jewelry collection next time she visits MB!)
Have a wonderful Tuesday lovelies!

If Theres a Rocket Tie Me To It

If Theres a Rocket Tie Me To It- Snow Patrol

Theres been a ton of exciting (and slightly terrifying... in a good way!) changes happening lately. I can't really delve too much into them, but they're loooong overdue and will soon explain my shoddy blogging habits of late.
This is my outfit from... 2 weeks ago. Gawd. I'm so far behind! But I decided to post it anyways as it shows off my new shoes from Bordeaux, in France (k, I LOVE saying that. Go ahead, judge me.) I wore them to work the other day and a colleague dubbed them my "mullet" shoes. Business in the front. Party in the back.

I love my colleagues. :)
Blue Shirt: Zara
Black Wool Shorts: H&M
Camel and Poppy Shoes: Mellow Yellow
Black Tights and Cami: Joe
Sequin Headband: Smart Set
