Window Shopping

I'm feeling a little blah today so instead of a regular outfit post (currently I'm rocking the uber cool hoody and sweats look) I figured I'd post some photos of items that I am seriously lusting after. Most are out of my price range (Hi! Chloe!) but it's always good to be prepared for when you win the lottery!

Fenton and Fallon for J Crew Necklace; Chloe "Louise" Satchel (I mean, Come on! It's my name... I have to have this! )

Clockwise: Floral Romper; White Skinnies; Floral Chiffon Dress; Tan Sandals All from Top Shop

Chiffon Printed and Pleated Mini; Lace Blouse with Back Zipper Detail Both from Anthropologie

Augh, I really would love to go shopping! Maybe these window shopping posts aren't the smartest thing. I'm heading to Montreal for a few days in June so I'm trying to save for that, I've never been and I'm so looking forward to it! I've heard only amazing things about the gorgeous city.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Midwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays

Ok, how's that for fate! I always blank when it comes to naming these posts, too much pressure! So I just end up naming it after whatever song I'm listening to at the time. Not too original, but I've never claimed to be creative at naming things! Anyways, I've been trying to mix up what I'm listening to so I've had my entire itunes library on shuffle and am finding all these classic songs that I haven't listened to in FOREVER. As I was uploading these photos "Midwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays" (old Augustana) came on and after a quick calculation to make sure that it was, in fact, Monday I had my post name! ... yes, little coincidences excite me alot!

Cardigan: Jacob
Lace Vest: Tristan
Cami: H&M
Jeans: Winners
Shoes, Earrings, Bangles: Le Chateau

I'm still in love with these braids, I have yet to perfect them, but I just feel so girly having my hair all tied up. I also enjoy this vest. A lot. I'm having a tough time mixing it into my wardrobe though. I want to wear it with cute sun dresses but all the ones I have look odd with it, not the same feel or something. Maybe I'll take that as a sign that I should go shopping. :)

The April showers have started here, which I couldn't be happier about! I enjoy the Sun, warmth and bare legs but I also hopelessly love rain. Not storms, but the pleasant, calm drizzle that makes everything look soft and makes it smell gorgeous. Mmmm.

P.s. To answer a question: The Franco Sarto shoes I wore in the last post were bought at a local boutique, but they are this season and are probably on Zappos. I hope that helps! (they're also super comfy and look even better in real life!)

Love and Some Verses

It's still gorgeous outside!? I feel like we're going to have to pay for this really badly later on but I'm loving it right now! +24° in April... yeah, I'm ok with that! My bike has already gotten quite a few kms on it and my garden is starting to grow (well, only the mini tomatoes so far... but still!).

This dress has the most unflattering sleeves, but I don't even care! It's crochet and short and I love it. I didn't plan an outfit and got dressed a tad blindly, just throwing on anything that made me smile! This included the dress, my lovely tan heels and the flower necklace! BIG smile!

Dress: French Connection
Slip: Thrifted
Shoes: Franco Sarto
Necklace: Accessorize

I have a dinner party, complete with cocktail dresses(!), tomorrow night and I can't wait! I hope the weather stays nice for some apple cider on the deck, does it get any better than that? I hope I can get some photos, but I always seem to forget to take them. I tend to get super excited and involved and it doesn't even cross my mind to bring out the camera! I will really try though!

Have a lovely Earth day and weekend as well!

Time to Pretend

So, as you can tell, I felt like being bright and flowery yesterday! I chalk it up to my desperate desire to have a garden (see the mini one below!). I also noticed that I hadn't worn pants/jeans in a while and figured that I should mix things up. I really do like jeans, I just don't get inspired by them so I don't wear them that often.

I don't really know what's going on for the top of this outfit! I guess I was in an accessorizing mood and just really enjoy mixing prints, I'm still on the fence about it. I do enjoy how cheerful it made me feel though!

(I am SO excited about my herbs!! I have also started to grow strawberries! Yes!)

Top: Rickis
Jeans: Winners
Shoes: Pierre Hardy for Gap
Scarf/belt: Poor Michaels
Necklace: Le Chateau

So this is so far behind the times but I'm going to see Alice in Wonderland tonight! I've been wanting to see it since before it came out but I guess the stars didn't align until today! I'm sure I'll be completely inspired and you can expect a bow in my hair and a pinafore dress tomorrow!

Burn to Shine

My parents and I went out for a casual supper last night for my Dad's Birthday and after sitting out in the gorgeous sun all day I couldn't bring myself to wear anything other than a short skirt! These are all really old pieces in this outfit, but I liked the blues together and it was very comfy. I'm telling myself that sometimes it's ok to not be making a huge fashion statement!

Shirt: Smart Set
Skirt: Roxy
Shoes: Aldo
Belt: Vintage
Earrings: Le Chateau
Assorted Bangles (as per usual!)

I don't quite know why but I've felt super scatter brained today. I hate when that happens! I've been checking my planner every 5 min. thinking that I'm forgetting something, so far I haven't but man, it's tiring trying to think of what you've forgotten!

I was supposed to be house sitting for the parents this week (they live on an acreage, so this also includes taking care of the many animals... a full-time job in itself). And I was actually quite excited to have a house to myself again (minus said animals). I was also planning some better photo shoots in the fields. However, the flight was cancelled because of the Iceland Volcano. I can't even imagine how rough that would be if you were over in Europe and unable to come back home. The magnitude of this is crazy.

And, that had nothing to do with fashion. Sorry! On that note, I hope you have a lovely, wonderful (non-forgetful) day!

Come Together

It's gorgeous, bright and sunny outside! Gone are the blustery and rainy days of the past week so I'm feeling daring enough to show a tiny bit of leg (so scandalous!). Actually I probably should've shown a bit more leg... it's HOT out! It's supposed to stay like this all weekend too, so stay tuned for some sans sweater posts (yipee!).

This is the easiest dress to wear, and super versatile. I bought it on a whim when I worked at Le Chateau (hence all the Le Chat pieces I have) thinking that I would really only wear it that weekend. I was so wrong. It's probably the most reused piece in my closet; dress, skirt, top, you name it. The poor thing probably has an identity crisis. I really wanted a denim jacket to throw over it today but alas, I still haven't found one that I love so I had to settle for this denim shirt. Same feel, maybe not executed as well as the jacket would've been though.
Dress: Le Chateau
Shirt: (Old) American Eagle
Belt: Gap
Hat (love!): American Apparel
Socks: Joe
Shoes: Thrifted

Anyways, it's the weekend now. So go outside... play, search, discover, have an adventure!
